The 2025 PBA Junior (Jr.) Regional Qualifier tournaments will have some additional competitors vying for the PBA Jr. National Championship as the PBA Jr. program adds a new Military Region.

Four PBA Jr. Military Regional Qualifiers will be held in 2025 with the champions in each division at each event eligible to advance to the PBA Jr. National Championship in early 2026.

“Over the years, I have received numerous requests from military families to somehow integrate their junior bowlers into our PBA Jr. tournament program,” Mike Sledz, the PBA director of membership who also oversees the PBA Jr. program, said. “After several meetings with bowling program managers from all military branches, this is our first step to make this a reality.”

The military events will be held at four U.S. Air Force bases across the country and will be open to all junior bowlers who have a valid dependent military ID card. In addition, these junior bowlers will have an opportunity to join PBA Jr. at a discounted rate.

“The PBA has the utmost respect for the sacrifices that military personnel and their families make for our country,” PBA Commissioner Tom Clark said. “Being able to include junior bowlers from the military allows these talented youth to be a part of our PBA Jr. program and have a shot at that PBA Jr. National Championship title.”

“Air Force Bowling is excited to partner with the PBA Jr. program in conjunction with our Armed Forces counterparts to offer our military youth the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents on such a grand stage,” Dustin Schmidt, the U.S. Air Force bowling program specialist, said.

Military junior bowlers who join PBA Jr. as a premium member will not only receive PBA Jr. swag and a customizable H5G jersey, but will get a $50 discount on the entry fee for any PBA Jr. Regional Qualifier tournament. A 20% discount is available for PBA Jr. Military members when purchasing a membership by entering the code “MILITARY” at checkout.
