Four Youth Stars Vie for PBA Junior National Championship Titles
The finals of the PBA Junior National Championship air Friday, April 4 at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time on FS1.
California’s Ernesto Reynoso looks to defend his title against Illinois’ Griffin Jordan, while California’s Katelyn Abigania hopes to fend off two-handed Anna Antony in the championship matches in the Boys and Girls divisions.
The 12 finalists in each division earned their spots through Regional Qualifier tournaments last year. The winner of each event advanced to the PBA Junior National Championship.
The finalists each bowled 12 games of round-robin match play. The top qualifier secured a berth in the championship match, which was televised in the U18 Boys and U18 Girls divisions, while the second through fifth qualifiers competed in a stepladder livestreamed on BowlTV.
The PBA Junior National Championships were contested March 14-15 at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev.
U18 Boys Division

Griffin Jordan, who defeated his twin brother and the 2022 champion Landin Jordan to qualify for the PBA Junior National Championship, earned the top seed in the boys division.
Jordan averaged more than 247 during match play to stave off Florida’s Christian Mouton for the automatic spot in the televised championship match.
Ernesto Reynoso, the defending champion, qualified third for the stepladder finals. In his first match against Dawson Peterson, who defeated Mats Tuneberg in the opening match, Reynoso shot 300.
Reynoso then defeated Mouton 268-251 to advance to the title match, where he will look to become the first two-time champion in the boys division.
Meanwhile, Jordan looks to become the first one-hander to win the boys division title. The previous four winners — Reynoso, Jacob Robertson, Landin Jordan and Spencer Robarge — all bowl two-handed.

U18 Girls Division

Though this is Katelyn Abigania’s first time in the televised championship match, she is no stranger to the PBA Junior National Championship scene. In fact, the San Diego native is the only player to have reached the finals in all five years of the event.
This year, Abigania cruised to the top seed by averaging more than 241 and compiling an 11-1 record. She never shot lower than 225 throughout match play.
Abigania also won the U.S. Amateur Championship in January at the National Bowling Stadium.
Kaitlyn Stull, the 2023 girls division champion, seized the fifth seed for the stepladder by defeating Abby Starkey in the position round. Stull won her matches against Taylor Kretz and Gianna Brandolino before falling to Anna Antony in the semifinal match.
Antony ended Stull’s run with a 257-235 victory to set up a title match with Abigania.
Antony, who bowls two-handed, has a chance to become the first two-handed player to win the girls division title. Bella Love Castillo finished second in 2023.

U15 Mixed Division

In the new U15 Mixed division, Arkansas’ Jackson Dyess climbed the stepladder to win the title.
He usurped Darrick Ferd Monteverde in the position round, then defeated Derrald Ferd Monteverde in the opening match of the stepladder. Dyess took down Blake Glines and Jos Weems to meet top seed Krisofer Wagner in the championship match.
Dyess won again, this time 237-225, to capture the first PBA Junior U15 Mixed National Championship.
The entirety of U15 Mixed division match play and stepladder finals were livestreamed on BowlTV and is available to rewatch in the BowlTV archives.
