Round 1 Standings

William Svensson led the opening round of PBA Tour Trials at Bowlero Woodridge, firing 1,488 (+288) for his six games on the 35-foot oil pattern. The Swede sits in the pole position of the 90-player field through six of 48 games.

“It feels great to get a good start,” Svensson said. “It’s still early in the week, and there is lots of bowling left, so I’ve got to keep on grinding.

Svensson is one of four Swedish players in the Tour Trials field, along with Iceland’s Arnar Jonsson who live in Sweden. Svensson, who turns 24 in November, said PBA Tour exempt status is his ultimate goal.

“I want to bowl a full year on tour, like I did last year without the PTQs,” Svensson said. “That's the main motivation. I want to bowl as much as possible, and bowling on tour is obviously the biggest thing you can do.”

To achieve that, Svensson will need to remain in the top 12 after all eight rounds. Those dozen players will earn exempt status on the 2025 PBA Tour, including priority entry for all 2025 PBA Tour events and eligibility for the PBA Elite League draft.

Tim Foy Jr., Andrew Hall, David Northouse and Nate Purches round out the top five.

Brandon Runk, who shot one of two 300 games on the day, sits in 12th place at +188.

Players will return to Bowlero Woodridge for the second round beginning at 6 p.m. Central (7 p.m. Eastern) this evening.
