PBA World Series of Bowling XV Preview
The 15th edition of the PBA’s signature event returns to the place where it all began: The PBA World Series of Bowling XV is underway at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Mich.
Beginning with the Roth/Holman PBA Doubles Championship and culminating with the PBA World Championship, the Detroit suburb will host almost three weeks of PBA Tour competition.
In total, the WSOB features:
- Five title events, including one major
- Two rounds of the PBA Elite League, featuring four matches on FS1
- Eight shows on FS1 and FOX, totaling 16 hours of coverage
First up is the Roth/Holman Doubles Championship, where Packy Hanrahan and Mitch Hupé are set to defend their title. The Wichita State University alums brought home their second and first career titles, respectively, a year ago in Delaware.
“We’re feeling pretty good,” Hupé said. “We’ve both had okay years, Packy’s not doing as well as last year, but I think he’s itching to get back into the winners circle and so am I.”
Qualifying for the Roth/Holman PBA Doubles Championship takes place on Thursday with the top 16 teams advancing to Friday’s round-robin match play.
All non-televised WSOB rounds of qualifying and match play will be livestreamed on BowlTV.
Fans are welcome to attend qualifying dates at Thunderbowl Lanes. Here are the competition dates for each WSOB XV event:
