Mike Scroggins has put his struggles on TV behind him. Sunday he won his fifth consecutive match on TV and captured his second title of the season, defeating all-time titles leader Walter Ray Williams Jr., 214-191, to win the 2008 Pepsi Championship at Thunder-Alley.

Denny’s PBA Tour star Chris Barnes fulfilled the dream of a four-year-old boy Friday at Thunder-Alley in Omaha, Neb., meeting up with Hunter Edwards and converting the “Flying Eagle” trick shot for the young boy as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Mike Scroggins figured out recently the best way to break a long losing streak on television is to put himself in the most difficult position possible. Now he’ll look to continue his winning streak from the best possible position.

After holding the lead in the 2007-08 PBA Player of the Year point race for 13 weeks, six-time PBA Player of the Year Walter Ray Williams Jr. was finally passed last week by Chris Barnes. Williams looks determined to take back the lead this week.

Rick Miller really knows how to bring the thunder. Miller became the first amateur to lead the Denny’s PBA Tour Qualifying Round field as an amateur twice in his career, averaging 252.71 with a 1,769 seven-game pinfall in the 2008 Pepsi Championship at Thunder-Alley.
